二、What are the different points of microscope camera USB and IEEE1394 interface ?
1.Different in transmission rate.
1394 is divided into 1394a and 1394b .The highest rate of 1394a is 400Mbps and 1394b is up to 800Mbps. It is necessary to divide by 8 when you will convert to bytes / sec and ,which means their highest speed of transmission is 50MB/s and 100MB/s .
The USB2.0 highest rate is 480Mbps equal to 60MB/s bytes.
Above are the theoretical values and it is not up to maximum value in practical. In generally ,the speed of 1394a is almost at the same with USB2.0 and 1394b is faster than USB2.0.But it is limited to the speed of the device itself and it would be difficult when the device can’t reach so such a high speed .So they have to transmitted at a lower speed. USB3.0 is a new generation of USB interface and its speed is so fast which can up to 5Gbps and tenfold faster than USB2.0 and full beyond IEEE1394 in theory.
2.Different structure .
USB interface only have one data line .So the data processing must be performed by computer, it is necessary to occupied a part of the computer memory for computing and the result will be transmitted to the graphics card.
In addition to a data line in 1394 interface it also require a 1394 card .The card is a key which is replace the computing and transfer to graphics card after deal with the data which is involves compatibility issues
The stability of computer will get lower when the main board add an external accessories, so if the compatibility of 1394 is bad and it will be instable in the process of using.
