Industrial camera is normally installed on the machine production lineto replaced the measurement and judgment of the human eyes .It gets through a digital image target into image signal, and send them to the exclusive image processing system.Image system makes the various kinds of calculations to extract the features of the target for these signals,controlling the scene of the equipment according to the results of determination .
There are so many kinds of Industrial camera,except for the pixel from hundreds of thousands to tens of millions and CCD& CMOS chip ,It will be a little different in production of between imports and domestic companies ,so how to choose the right industrial camera ?
First ,you should make it clear your own testing tasks, the static or dynamic shooting and the frequency of shooting ,defect inspection , measurement or positioning?What is the size(visual field)of the product ?How much accuracy required?The performance of the software ,how is the scene of environment and have any other special rerements, etc.
What is the speed if it is a dynamic pictures,choosing the minimum exposure time and whether it needs progressive scan camera or not according to the movement speed;The camera frame rate (the highest shooting frequency) is associated with pixels,usually the higher resolution ,the lower frame rate and it has a little different in industrial camera frame rate of different brands .
It can calculate the industrial camera resolution according to the different testing tasks, the size of the product, the necessary resolution required and the performance of the used software.Choosing the different industrial camera in the scene of environment , the temperature , humidity, condition of interference and light condition are the first priority in the main consideration .
For example,our inspection task is the dimensions of measurement,product size :18 mm * 10 mm,accuracy requirement :0.01 mm in production line,the insection speed is 10 PCS/ second , The scene of environment is ordinary industrial and without considering the interference problem.
First of all we know the production line with the faster speed ,so we can choose a progressive scan camera.We can set up 20 mm * 12 mm visual field size (You should consider each error of machine positioning and take the scope bigger than the object appropriately).If we can acquire the excellent image (for example it can play a backlight),and our software measurement precision can consider 1/2 pixel ,so we need the camera resolution is 20/0.01/2 = 1000 pixel ,Another direction is 12/0.01/2=600pixcel,Which means we need at least 1000 * 1000 pixel of the camera resolution,the frame rate in 10 frames / second,so we can choice 1024*768 pixel,
(In the case of software performance and machine precision can't accurate, it can consider to 1280 * 1024 pixel), 10 fps /second above will be OK .
